To study respecting our reality: gains with education

In addition to caring for the forest and planting, we are concerned with education. Since the beginning, our team seeks to organize and support the daughters and sons of producers’ families by granting scholarships, courses and training.

Agricultural Family School in Nova California. (RECA collection)

Currently, we have our own education team and managed to establish the Agricultural Family School, EFA – Jean Pierre Mingam School, which uses the Pedagogy of Alternation, and allows the adjustment of teaching to our reality in a unique way. In this system, students go to school only 15 days during the month; in the other 15 days, they work on the family property. This is of fundamental importance for us, as it ensures that our youth can study without having to go to a large urban center, allowing them to maintain their social ties. It also helps reduce school dropout.
